Life.

The highs and lows and the ups and down are all part of life. When great things happen we get on an emotional high, when sad things happen we can get on a super low.

Recently my husband was in an accident and had to undergo a complicated surgery.

Staying around the clock in a hospital was an eye opening experience for me. A hospital is a place of healing but there is also a lot of pain, despair and sadness.

One day when my husband had some visitors, I decided to air out. I sat down by a window just to rest my mind and heard loud sobbing. When I heard that type of cry I froze. I knew. The woman crying came to sit down near me and I asked her if she lost someone. She said her 30 year old daughter just passed away moments before. Her family and friends surrounded her with love and support. I offered my condolences but knew there was nothing that I could say that would truly comfort her at that moment.

I then went to buy a drink at the in house starbucks downstairs and sat down for a few minutes. Suddenly there was shouting and crying but this was different, there was joy and happiness. I looked at the balloons arriving and knew someone had a baby. The extreme emotions from mourning to celebration all occurred within five minutes in the same building on different floors. Although not related to either party, I found my emotions go through a shock.

We are all on our journey. We have our high moments and we have our low moments. But all the moments are part of the same journey. Some things we can't change and are out of our control but it's how we deal with them, the support and the tools that we have can make all the difference. Learning to live with an inner peace and calm no matter what is happening around us can create a seamless life despite the chaos.

Living life to its fullest is truly learning to dance in the storms. And yes.......there can be so many storms.
